NDP’S CROSS-CANADA EMPLOYMENT INSURANCE TOUR STOPS IN LAVAL
The Conservatives’ proposed changes matter to all workers
and their employers
OTTAWA — The MP for Laval, José Nunez-Melo, invites all Laval residents for a public meeting on the latest reform of employment insurance. The event will take place at the Centre du Sablon, at 755 Chemin du Sablon (H7W 4H5), Sunday, June 16 at 2 pm. The NDP critic on EI, Anne-Marie Day (Charlesbourg-Haute-Saint-Charles) will host this meeting and answer questions from citizens on the proposed changes and their impact on their lives and families.
“Contrary to what you might think, these changes do not just concern people who are out of work: they matter to all workers and their employers,” said José Nunez-Melo. He encourages workers and employers to seek information on what to expect from the conservatives plans.
Families need peace of mind to find a new job instead of being suspected of fraud. Can you imagine a government inspector knocking at your door to ask you to prove the identity of your children or enter your home to check your bills or dig into your bank account? This is what provides the conservative reform employment insurance.
By attending this meeting, we will be able to assist you on:
-
Highlighting the latest penalizing and restrictive changes;
- Introducing the tools to mobilize the population against these changes;
- Discussing the NDP proposals aimed to significantly improve employment insurance.
